Pool Rules
Cost
Each owner interested in the pool will pay $40 on the night of the draft, no later.

Draft
Draft takes place prior to the opening of the NHL season.
Each pool member (owner) will draft:
      - 9 Forwards
      - 4 Defensemen
      - 2 Goalies

Trades
Each owner is allowed to make four trades for players that are generally available.
The trade deadline is the drop of the puck of the all-star game.
If the draft is held significantly before the beginning of the season, owners are allowed 1 free trade on the night before the season opener.
Owners can only trade for forwards and defensemen that are within 10 points of the player they are trading.
Owners can only trade for goalies that are within .050 save percentage average and 10 points of the goalie they are trading.
If you wish to trade for a goalie with a save % not within .050 but still within 10 G pnts, you can use two trades to acquire that goalie.
Owners can trade amongst themselves as many times as they like.
End-of-season firesales for part of the profits will not be tolerated.
Owners can give other owners their trades.
Trades are finalized by posting the details on the messageboard (put the full name and team of player being traded for). If the messageboard is unavailable make sure you send an email to the pool manager to prove when you made the trade.

Categories
There are 7 seven categories by which owners earn points for their players:

     Skaters (forwards and defensemen)
     1. Goals 1 pt. each
     2. Assists 1 pt. each
     3. Points 1 pt. each
     4. Defensive Points 1 pt. each
     5. Plus/Minus 1 pt. each

     Goalies
     6. Goalie Points
           - 2 pt. for Win
           - 1 pt. for Tie
           - 3 pt. for Shutout
           - 1 pt. for Goal
           - 1 pt. for Assists

     7. Save Percentage
           - Average of both Goalies

All the points in a category are summed up for each team, and the teams are ranked against each other based on the totals.
The team that has the highest total in a category receives a category point value of 12, the second highest 11, and so on until the team with the lowest total receives 1 point. (This is based on there being 12 teams)

If two teams or more teams are tied in a category, they split the available points. (For example, team A and team B are both leading in the goals category tied with 120 goals each. 1st and 2nd place in the goals category are worth 12 and 11 points respectively, therefore team A and team B will both receive 11.5 points [(12 + 11) / 2 = 11.5]).

Victory
The owner with the most category points at the all-star break will receive $40.
The owner with the most category points at the end of the regular season will receive 70% of purse.
The owner with the 2nd most category points at the end of the regular season will receive 20% of purse.
The owner with the 3rd most category points at the end of the regular season will receive 10% of purse.
The owner with the 7th most category points at the end of the regular season will receive $20.

purse = (total money) - (allstar payout) - (7th place payout).
